Material and methods: It is a prospective study,40 patients attending the Opthalmology OPD were studied. A detailed study of the age, etiology, pre¬operative status of the eye, time of surgery following trauma, final visual outcome was done. Patients presenting with Traumatic Cataract from all age groups ,both sexes & giving consent were included in the study. The patients presenting with complicated,congenital or age realted cataract & pathologies of posterior segment & not giving consent were excluded.Postoperative visual acuity was assesssd along with complications & follow up was done for 6 months after surgery. Discussion:Maximum number of patients were males and children below 10 years.Most cases were due to blunt ocular trauma. Wooden stick was the commonest object causing both blunt as well as penetrating ocular injuries.
Conclusion: Early presentation,diagnosis & treatment leads to good post operative best corrected visual acuity in comparison to late presentation cases.
