Purpose: To evaluate demographics,clinical characteristics and treatment outcome of patients with CNLDO
Methods: Records of patients , who underbent syringing and probing during period of june 2012 to april 2017 were analyzed. Demographics, clinical presentation, timing of intervention and treatment outcome were analyzed.
Results: 26 patients with CNLDO were included in the study, of which 17 were males and 9 females. 21 had unilateral presentation while 5 had bilateral presentation. Average age at presentation was 12 months ( Range 1-36 months). Of these 26 patients, 4 patients denied,so 22 patients(27 eyes) underwent syringing and probing. Mean age at which procedure was done was 14 months (Range 7-36 months). There was absence of epiphora in 20 out of 27 eyes ,2 wks post operatively. out of 7 eyes with failed primary probing only 3 underwent repeat probing with 66% success.
Conclusion: syringing and probing gives satisfactory result if conservative management fails.
