Purpose: To compare Total Case Time(TCT), U/S Total Time(UST), Cumulative Dissipated Energy(CDE), Estimated Fluid Aspirated(EFA), Total Aspiration Time(TAT) in different patterns of FLACS for softer nuclei & its impact on post op Corneal Volume(CV) & Endothelial Count(EC) on day1 & day30
Method: 72 patients underwent Grid and 2-chop pattern of femto pretreatment. Pair t test was used to compare phacodynamics & pre-Op measurements with post-Op measurements on day1 & day30
Results: Mean difference between Grid pattern as compared to 2-Chop for TCT(p=0.008), TAT(p=0.031) & EFA(p=0.008) were statistically significant. Post-Op difference in EC at day-1(p=0.914) and day-30(p=0.94) was not significant. CV was significantly more in Grid as compared to 2-Chop pattern (p=0.00) on 1st post-Op day
Conclusion: As intra-Op maneuverability to dislodge Nucleus–epinuclear bowl is less and first Post-Op Central CV is better; 2-Chop pattern emerges as preferred mode of laser pretreatment in softer nuclei
