Cataract formation is common complication in eyes with uveitis. It is typically due to chronic intraocular inflammation, long term corticosteroids use or both . It tends to occur at younger age than senile cataract & also occur with complications such as posterior synechiae , band keratopathy, pupillary membrane & fibrosis of ant capsule.
So cataract surgery in uveitic eyes can be associated with significant intraoperative & post op complication.
Will present clinical pearls which will help to achieve successful anatomic & visual outcomes.
