This PDEK course will demonstrate effectiveness & reproducibility of PDEK (Pre Descemets Endothelial Keratoplasty) in varied endothelial dysfunctions. Video based teaching of graft preparation & transplantation will be delivered. In addition, the comparable effectiveness of pneumatic dissection (in PDEK) improving endothelial preservation, corneal morphology and thickness, dissections in younger donors, ease and reduced surgical time against mechanical separation (in DMEK,DSAEK & PK) will be discussed. PDEK in special circumstances and complex cases of aphakic corneas and scarred bullous keratopathies, Post trabeculectomised eyes with endothelial damages, ICE syndromes would be highlighted.
Objective Attendees would learn to master a newer, novel endothelial keratoplasty technique (PDEK), which is easier, comparable and a superior alternative to DMEK and DSAEK in cases of corneal endothelial dysfunctions.
