This video based course will cover indications, techniques and pitfalls during the use of capsular tension rings,cionni’s rings, CTR segments and iris hooks in patients with weak zonules like malpositioned lenses in Marfan’s syndrome, spherophakia, traumatic subluxation , pseudoexfoliation , intraoperative zonular weakness and paediatric zonular defficiencies. Preoperative evaluation, intraoperative clues for diagnosing potentially unstable zonules, techniques of management of disasters and long term complications will be discussed. IOL options along with techniques of fixation with sutures and glues will be highlighted. At the end of the course, the participants will be prepared mentally and technically to use rings , hooks and segments in difficult situations while managing malpositioned lenses.
