Dr.Jagannath Boramani
SICS has become a refractive surgery as well. Scleral tunnel incisions heal very well. Being away from optical axis, they are secure, predictable and more forgiving in nature. Scleral incisions can be customised taking into consideration the amount and the meridian of astigmatism. One can also have an anastigmatic incision for a spherical cornea. Smart incision is yet another new methodology to give multifocal vision in majority of cases,, without using multifocal IOLs. SICS marker is a new device to exactly mark the placement of incision. The talks in the course are supported with pre- operative and post-operative corneal topographic images. This advanced course highlights the predictability of advanced SICS with respect to visual outcome and control of astigmatism.
