The scope of Oculoplastic surgery has expanded to oculofacial aesthetics, as the eyelid and facial aesthetics are closely interlinked. This course presents an overview of the current concepts relevant both to the general ophthalmologist & Oculopasty surgeon. Ageing leads to skin changes, loss of volume & descent of tissues which need to be addressed. An understanding of the basic anatomy and concepts of facial rejuvenation is critical. The appropriate use of available modalities of chemodenervation ( Botulinium toxin), volume addition (fillers and fat) and surgical interventions ( blepharoplasty, browplasty & fat repositioning) requires a thorough understanding of the patient’s concern & psychological make up. Video films & photographs will bring out the points critical for success of the surgical procedures. A thorough panel discussion & audience interaction will help provide an understanding of the finer points.
