Dr.Chandrima Paul
Glaucoma diagnosis and management in the last decade saw the development and validation of new visual field procedures. SDOCT underwent not only technological advancement to improve resolution and repeatability, but also advancements in RNFL thickness quantification, segmental macular thickness calculation and progression detection algorithms, to improve diagnosis and management. Advent of novel ocular hypotensives offer the option of myriad choices for control of intraocular pressure. Filtration surgery has focused on wound modulation and targeted effective antiscarring interventions for more predictable outcomes, lower complication rates, and rapid visual recovery. Glaucoma drainage devices underwent modifications in design, construction, and implantation technique. This course will familiarise the attendees with the most significant developments of clinical meaningfulness in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma.
