Dr.Sarita Panda
3 clinically diagnosed cases of pigmented conjunctival nevus & 2 conjunctival haemangioma ( 10-30 yrs;april 2016- march 2017).Pts were subjected to S/L biomicroscopy ,Ant. & Post. segment exam ,VA,IOP ,ocular movements . Pts underwent excisional biopsy & sent for HP study & diagnosis confirmed. Care was taken not to injure to MR while dissecting as growth were on nasal quad. .Not leaving excised area bare,we took a conjunctival limbal autograft from superootemporal quadrant& sutured it with 8-0 vicryl & put on topical antibiotics & steroid for 6 wks & followed up at 6 wks, 6 months & 1 yr. post op period was uneventful & after followupof 4 pts,1 lost to follow up,we noticed good cosmesis,no recurrence (except 1)& improved ocular movements in 2 pts of earlier restricted movement. VA was maintained .As there was no conjunctival scarring or tissue adhesions, pts had success with cosmesis.Hence conjunctival autograft can be preffered for moderate conjunctival growth.
