AIM- To find out the changes in central corneal thickness (CCT) and intraocular pressure (IOP) in reproductive age group females during the menstrual cycle
METHODS- It is a prospective clinical study done at tertiary care center between June 2014 to June 2015. 150 females between the age group of 18 to 45 years were included in the study and CCT was measured by ultrasound pachymeter whereas IOP was measured by applanation tonometer (AT).Both were measured at 3 times i.e. at beginning of cycle (1st to 3rd days), at ovulation time (14th to 16th day) and at end of cycle (28th to 33rd day).Phases of the cycle were confirmed by urinary LH level and abdominal ultrasonography.Data was analyzed by SPSS version 16.
CONCLUSION- Both CCT and IOP were significantly (P<0.001) higher in ovulation phase than beginning and end of menstrual cycle.
