Purpose : To determine whether topical ocular NSAIDS can replace topical steroids for post YAG PI treatment. METHODS :This was prospective longitudinal study of 100 patients who underwent YAGPI in BE.Patients were assigned into two groups :First group treated with topical Dexamethasone ,Second group with topical Ketorolac ; were followed up after one week . Main outcomes measured were BCVA, IOP , AC reaction ,patient satisfaction (pain and discomfort). RESULTS:Mean preop and postop IOP between two groups (dexamethasone , ketorolac): 16.79 ,16.14( pvalue.358) ;15.23,16.11 (pvalue 0.099),respectively . Mean pre and post BCVA values were : 6/9, 6/6 ; (pvalue.215) ; 6/9,6/9 ( pvalue .304). Pain and discomfort assessment between two groups corresponds to p values .316 , .267 respectively. No statistically significant difference noted in two groups .CONCLUSION :Topical NSAIDs are safe and equally effective for post YAG PI treatment , with no risk of increased iop in steroid responders .
