To evaluate surgical outcomes of monocanalicular tear repair with 24G cannula in 7 patients with lower canalicular tear, operated with mean time lag of 48 hours with 24G cannula as stent.Stent removal done at mean time duration of 6.5 weeks, mean duration of follow up was 6 months.Patients evaluated for patency by syringing and any failure or complications of surgery.Out of 7 patients, patency noted in 5 patients(71%) after 6 months, partially patent in 1patient(14%) and stent extrusion occurred in one patient in 1st follow up.One patient had corneal abrasion who required premature stent removal. We conclude that 24G cannula can be used as an effective and economical alternative to minimonoka monocanalicular tube.
