Neurocysticercosis caused by Taenia solium commonly presents with seizures and rarely causes raised intracranial pressure resulting in papilloedema and is termed cysticercotic encephalitis, found in children and young women(2.3%-6.6%incidence).Presenting a 15 year old female who came with complaints of headache and double vision since 6 days with vomiting, fever, neck pain, tinnitus and transient blurring of vision. No history of seizures.Vision in both eyes 6/6 with normal anterior segment and fundus showed bilateral hyperemic disc edema, crescent sign on B scan suggestive of bilateral papilloedema.Magnetic resonance imaging:multiple scattered ring enhancing lesions in both cerebral hemispheres and surrounding white matter edema suggestive of neurocysticercosis. She was given intravenous and oral steroids before albendazole to avoid further intracranial pressure increment. Post treatment showed improvement of disc edema and cerebral lesions in neuro imaging with retained good vision.
