ABSTRACT
17 years old male patient presented with gradual bulging and diminution of vision of left eye since last 5 years. He gave history of ocular trauma16 years ago followed by pain and redness, for which he had taken treatment. On examination of left eye vision was no perception of light, non tender axial proptosis, hazy and opaque cornea.Posterior segment could not be evaluated due to media opacity.Right eye was normal.CECT Scan of orbit revealed deformed left eye ball with protrusion of anterior chamber.Patient underwent enucleation.Histopathological examination revealed eyeball measurement to be as 35mm(anteroposterior)and 25mm (vertical). No signs of any tumour were found.Ciliary staphyloma can be following childhood trauma and subsequent scleritis .Here clinical examination and CT Scan gave early suspicision of staphyloma.Confirmed by histopathological examination of the enucleated eye. This case emphasizes that even early history of trauma later can present with enlarged eyeball.
