Dr.Satyam Gupta

Introduction: Vitamin A deficiency and keratomalacia is presenting feature of VAD in children, we would like to present cases with keratomalacia in adults.

Case Report: These three cases present spontaneous central corneal perforation which was not associated with any other co morbidities, but patient were having xerosis and bitot’s spots Patient did not respond to anti-microbial and cycloplegic treatment but patient responded to vitamin A supplementation.

Conclusion: In view of forgoing observations and references in literature, there is no doubt that keratomalacia in adults exist and that the symptoms in eye are analogous to those in children.
