A lot of training program are being run after post-graduation ranging from one month to two years, which are very popular these days. They are very popular amongt fresh post graduate due to unorganized and nonuniform structured training during post graduation. Due to fast technological and surgical innovation in ophthalmology,the senior colleagues feel left out, they are unable to spare long time for such training. There is need of continuing medical education as well as continuing surgical training.It depends at what level training is being undertaken.The presenter had undergone well structured Phacoemulsification training only for 10 days.The effect on surgical outcome was tremendous. The surgical results in terms of post operative visual outcome,decreased complications and conversion of technique from 20% Phaco to 90% was achieved.The structure of the training,prerequisite criteria and post training monitoring will be discussed.
