Purpose: To study safety of passive visco wash during IPCL implantation
Methods: 16 eyes undergoing IPCL phakic IOL implantation were included in the study. All eyes underwent IPCL implantation with methylcellulose. After placing haptics under iris, Visco from the anterior chamber was removed by steady flow of BSS from 20 cc syringe. Postoperative IOP and inflammaion was checked postoperatively 2 hours, nex day and 5th day.
Result: All eyes showed no inflammation and normal IOP on 1st postopertive day and there after. No postoperative complications were noted. No case had anterior capsular opacification or retained viscoelastic.
Conclusion: passive visco wash is a safer method of Visco removal as it reduces anterior chamber fluctuations and reduces postoperative inflammation.
