Purpose: to see the outcome of a combined implantable contact lens implantation and strabismus surgery in a case of myopic animetropia and exotropia
Methods: 36 years old male had right eye best corrected visual acuity with -6dsph/-3dcylx90=6/9 and left eye with -0.5 dsph=6/6 having right exotropia of 60PD with poor stereopsis underwent phakic IOL implantation and squint correction surgery in the same sitting
Results: good postoperative unaided visual acuity of 6/9 was achieved in the operated eye with good cosmesis following strabismus surgery. a minimal angle of 5 degree under correction was noted. patient did not complain of postoperative diplopia
Conclusions: good cosmetic and visual outcome can be achieved in patients with myopic anisometopia with strabismus performing a combined phakic IOL implantation and strabismus surgery.
