Purpose-24 yr old male patient presented to casualty with lowerlid laceration and sudden loss of vision in right eye after sustaining RTA.
Methods-on examination of right eye there was perception of light with traumatic mydriasis, periorbital edema and multiple corneal abrasions. Slitlamp and IDO- revealed vitreous haemorrhage and pale optic disc. There was restriction of dextroversion, elevation,dextroelevation.
MRI scan-fracture of medial wall and floor of right orbit with herniation of intraorbital fat into ethmoid and maxillary sinuses with diffuse pneumoorbit.
Results-The patient were taken up for repair of lid laceration and orbital floor under the cover of systemic antibiotics along with 3doses of methyl prednesilone. Normal extraocular movements are regained after 1week with visual acuity of 2mts. Expecting it to improve by resolving vitreous haemorrhage.
Conclusion-Timely intervention reduces the visual morbidity in cases of ocular trauma.
