INTRODUCTION: Ocular manifestations of psoriasis include conjunctivitis, dry eye,
episcleritis, and uveitis.
PURPOSE: To present an interesting case of psoriatic arthropathy with anterior uveitis and discuss its management.
METHOD: Single case report.
CASE REPORT: 54-year diabetic, hypertensive male patient of psoriatic arthropathy presented with DOV (near and distant) in the left eye since 3 months; recurrent pain and redness in both the eyes since 20 years. Slit lamp biomicroscopic examination showed KPs, nebular corneal opacity, congestion, AC cells++, AC flare ++ and posterior synechiae in left eye. IDO examination with 20 D lens revealed suspected cystoid macular edema in the left eye. OCT of both eyes was done. Final diagnosis of psoriatic uveitis was made and successfully managed with topical steroids.
CONCLUSION: Psoriatic uveitis is a vision threatening condition. Referral to an ophthalmologist for definitive diagnosis is essential.
