Purpose:
To study posterior segment manifestations in cases diagnosed with Fuch’s Heterochromic Iridocyclitis
Method : We conducted a clinical, prospective, interventional study on 22 patients with FHIC. A complete ophthalmic examination was done in these patients. Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA) was ordered in 15 patients.
Results : Twenty one patients had an unilateral Presentation. The most common posterior segment manifestation were vitritis(90%), Chorioretinal atrophic patch(18%), and hyperemic disc(9%). Central Serous Chorioretinopathy and peripheral retinal degeneration was noted in 1 patient each. On FFA perivascular leak (79%) followed by disc hyperfluorescence (71%) were noted.
Conclusion: Most of the cases of FHIC are misdiagnosed as the presence of posterior segment manifestations are not commonly recognized. In our study, we saw that FHIC can have atypical presentation in the form of posterior segment manifestations and FFA proves to be useful in such cases.
