Objective: To report the clinical profile, laboratory investigations and biopsy results of sarcoid uveitis. Methods: Prospective observational study of sarcoid uveitis; evaluated for clinical features, investigations and visual outcome. Results: Among 31 patients, 18 were presumed ocular sarcoidosis. Male:female ratio was 10:21. 71 % had bilateral while 29 % had unilateral involvement. 64.5% patients had ocular manifestation as presenting feature and 35.5% were diagnosed systemic sarcoidosis with ocular symptoms. Most common manifestation was intermediate uveitis (58.1%) followed by posterior uveitis (29%), anterior uveitis (9.7%) and panuveitis (3.2%). Patients were treated with oral prednisolone, azathioprine, mycophenolate mofetil and topical steroid as required. Conclusion: Ocular sarcoidosis can present as the initial or only manifestation of sarcoidosis. Most common presentation was intermediate uveitis. Systemic steroid or immunosuppressive agents are required for treatment.
