In this modern era of phacoemulsification cataract surgery, while the developed nations are moving toward phacorefractive surgery with premium intraocular lenses, developing nations like India still have a large subset of population who can afford phacoemulsification surgery but only non foldable intraocular lenses. These non-foldable IOLs are to be placed only in-the-bag and are quite unstable in the sulcus due to their overall length. So their placement in-the-bag gets paramount importance as these surgeries are performed in crowded surgical camps, by surgical trainees and on patients not fully understanding the procedure and the needed co-operation. In this video presentation we demonstrate the technique of inserting in-the-bag non-foldable PMMA IOLs without the need for dialing “a dangerous step in the hands of a novice surgeon” and the concept of dialing safely if needed.
