Hazy Corneas due to corneal scar, limbal pannus ,vascularization and dry eye pose immense challenge in visualization during anterior segment surgery. Due to absent or minimal red glow performing phacoemulsification is extremely difficult. There is no depth perception and visualization of anterior segment structures.
In our technique we put a chandelier light in pars-plana and switch of the microscope light; Phaco in darkness . Since we are able to bypass the hazy cornea Red glow is very good with excellent depth perception. Small addition of chandelier retro-illumination helps us to deal with complex anterior segment surgery
