Aim: To demonstrate the effectiveness of small incision procedures in lacrimal surgery (SILS) in a tertiary tribal health care centre.
Materials and methods: All the cases operated for lacrimal disease. They were operated by small incisions. Sac was accessible easily using this wound location. Sac was sutured by 6-0 cat gut ,orbicularis and subcutaneous and skin sutured with 6-0 vicryl . All the patients were seen immediate post operation. Patients were followed at first, second and sixth week for scarring and wound gape.
Result: SILS is less traumatic with minimal irritation. Cosmetically good looking.
Conclusion: SILS is very easy and cost effective method with good result which may be replicable.
