Learning and mastering cataract surgery involves lot of challenges .One has to encounter varied situations in the operating room and act accordingly. The following 4 cases involves employment of different strategies to overcome the challenge. In the first case of hypermature morgagnian cataractwith an Argentinian flag sign , the tear is converted to a radial rrhexis using micro rrhexis forceps and phaco emulsification is completed using safe strategies. Use of pharmacological and mechanical devices in tackling small pupils during phaco emulsification is highlightened in the second and third video.Phacoemulsification in vitrectomised eyes offers challenges like fluctuations in Anterior chamber ,weak zonules ,and poor fundal glow. The safe strategies employed is well described in the video.
