Uveitis, a multifactorial disease produces diagnostic and therapeutic challenges to all ophthalmologists One of the major diagnostic challenges in uveitis is to differentiate a uveitic from a non–uveitic entity We, as an ophthalmologist often overtreat or undertreat such conditions which leads to a devastating outcome in clinical practice which could have been prevented with meticulous attention, history taking and diagnostic approach. Highlighting such common mistakes in uveitis which we often come across in our clinics to alert the treating ophthalmologist in carefully avoiding them. Optimal choice of steroids, cycloplegics are vital for treatment success. Monitoring the disease activity and handling the sequelae paying diligent attention to disease activity are supercritical. Ruling out differentials like acute retinal necrosis from behcet’s which closely mimic but of treatment in opposite direction is very crucial.This will prevent costly mistakes saving the precious eyes.
