Suprachoroidal hemorrhage is a rare, but serious ocular condition, which may be associated with permanent loss of visual function. Both limited and massive choroidal hemorrhages may occur as complications of most forms of ocular surgery, as well as from trauma. Despite modern vitreo retinal techniques, choroidal hemorrhage is associated with visual loss in most cases. Choroidal hemorrhages in cataract surgery tend to fare better than those in other forms of ocular surgery or in trauma. This video describes indications of surgical intervention, timings of intervention, and which surgical intervention. The video shows the various do’s and dont’s in the management of these cases. Surgical video demonstrates cases undergoing the conventional technique of draining through sclerotomy and newer technique i.e. transconjunctival trocar/cannula drainage of suprachoroidal fluid. Disadvantages and advantages of both techniques are being demonstrated in this video.
