Apps in the Smart phones are the boon of computer technology.We focus on the mobile apps(android and iphone based) that help us in eye testing like visual fields,essential calculations including IOL power, risk scores and more. 3D photography and viewing 3D surgical videos on mobile is another informative app. Another areas of focus is slit lamp photos and videos including gonioscopy, fundus photos and surgery videos all using our smart phone .The future technology of virtual reality is already here and will illustrate the use of surprisingly low cost virtual reality devices in ophthalmology and beyond. These inexpensive technologies are easily within our reach and practical application in clinical practice will help young ophthalmologists to learn quickly with ease and work confidently and effectively. We can never be too young to teach or too old to learn them .
