Background: Scleral fixated iol is a well proven technique for IOL implantation after posterior capsular complication. Contemporary SFIOLs can be sutured , glued or fixed in tunnel. Here we are going to showcase and compare the patented design and technique of Rana & Shah’s self sustaining scleral tuck IOL with contemporary SFIOLs. Scleral tuck iol can be implanted in eye without any glue, suture or tunnels. It is simple in design and easy to implant with no learning curve. It can decrease the implantation time from average sfiol time 45 mins to 10 mins in scleral tuck IOL.
Method: we are presenting a video highlighting comparision of the Scleral tuck iol design and implantation technique with contemporary SFIOLs.
Conclusion: scleral tuck IOL can revolutionize the method of secondary implantation with shorter implantation time, no learning curve , hence improving postop results.
