Background: Salzmann nodular degeneration causes irritation, irregularity of the corneal surface, deterioration of vision by involving the central visual axis and vascularization accounting for a resultant decrease in the quality of life.1 the older methods of treatments like lubricants, contact lens provide only temporary symptomatic relief while more invasive procedures like penetrating keratoplasty are fraught with problems like high rate of complications like rejection or infections.Amniotic membrane transplant has been proven effective for ocular surface reconstruction and regularization in cicatrizing corneal conditions due to its properties like anti-inflammatory, aid in epithelization and anti- scarring properties.
Method: we are presenting a video showing amniotic membrane grafting in salzmannnodular degeneration
Conclusion: Amniotic membrane transplant with superficial keratectomy helped regularization of the corneal surface and improved v/a in salzmann nodunar degeneration.
