Intrastromal keratopigmetation (ISKP) or Corneal tattooing is the modality to combat unsightly corneal scars. It was used with metallic pigments in the past that were associated with lots of side effects and gradual loss of pigments. Nowadays, organic dyes are being used with lesser side effects and with longer tattoo effects. The indications are expanding like in eccentric corneal opacities and cornea iridic scars. The expanding indications include non seeing pre phthisical eyes with cataract where cataract removal can be dangerous but ISKP may help to hide the unsightly leukocoria. Similarly, the seeing eyes with pupillary capture and exposed lens capsule causes embarrassment to the patient. The video will highlight the two techniques of ISKP: Intrastromal pocket technique and Needle puncture technique in all these different expanding indications. This will help the attendee to utilize this technique for wider indications and with good results.
